International Institute of Information Technology - Post Graduate Entrance Exam

International Institute of Information Technology, Hyderabad (IIIT, Hyderabad, IIIT-H) is an autonomous university in Hyderabad, Andhra Pradesh, India. The institute conducts the PGEEE for admission to post graduate programs in various streams.

Eligibility

  • For M.Tech: Candidates who have completed or have appeared for B.E/B.Tech in Engineering (CS/IT/ECE/EEE/Civil/Instrumentation/Biotechnology) or B.Arch. or Master’s degree in Science/Maths/IT/Computer Science or MCA
  • For PG Diploma: Candidates with MA degree, or have appeared for MA in linguistics, languages and related subjects.
  • For M.S (research):Candidates who have completed (or going to complete by time of admission) BE/BTech in Engineering (CS/IT/ECE/EEE/Civil/Instrumentation/Biotechnology) or B.Arch. or Master’s degree in Science/Maths/IT/Computer Science or MCA or M.E/M.Tech.
  • For Ph.D :Candidates who have completed (or going to complete by time of admission) BE/BTech in Engineering (CS/IT/ECE/EEE/Civil/Instrumentation/Biotechnology) or B.Arch. or Master’s degree in Science/Maths/IT/Computer Science or MCA or M.E/M.Tech.
  • For M.Phil: M.A or M.Phil in Linguistics, Languages or related areas.

Syllabus for Electronics and Communications Engineering
( Interview selection for the streams VLSI & Embedded Systems and Signal Processing and Communication is based on this paper’s score and the score of the general aptitude test. The paper is in two parts - Part A (Electronics) and Part B (Signal Processing and Communication))

Structural Engineering Bending moments and shear forces in beams, stress and strain relations, principal stresses, Mohrs circle, simple bending theory, flexural and shear stresses, torsion, analysis of trusses and frames, analysis of indeterminate structures by force/displacement methods, matrix methods of structural analysis, working and limit state design concepts, design of compression members, beam, slab, footing, staircases, basic concepts of prestressed concrete, riveted and welded joints, steel beam column connections, plate girders and design of base plate.

Pattern

There are two papers in IIIT PGEEE: Paper I & Paper II. There is no negative marking.
Paper I (Mandatory): General aptitude 1 ½ hours:
Objective Test: 
Questions on basic aptitude, logical reasoning, basic questions on computers and mathematics.
Note: Candidates have to score a minimum cut-off score to be eligible for evaluation of the chosen subject paper (Paper II). 
Paper II Subject paper: 1 ½ hours Candidates have to choose the relevant subject papers as per the graduation degree specialization
