National Aptitude Test in Architecture

The National Aptitude Test in Architecture (NATA) is an entrance exam for candidates seeking admissions to 5 year B.Arch. degree courses. The NATA scores are accepted by institutes / schools / colleges of Architecture in India (including Govt., Govt-aided, Private Unaided, University Depts., Deemed Universities, etc.). The examination is designed to measure the candidate’s aptitude for Architecture. The exam consists test on drawing and observation skills, sense of proportion, aesthetic sensitivity and critical thinking ability related to the specific field of Architecture.

Eligibility

Candidates who have passed SSC (Std X) or equivalent examination are eligible. Candidates with minimum 50% marks in 10+2 or equivalent examination with mathematics as one of the subjects only are eligible.

Syllabus

Test Pattern:
The test is divided over two parts - A paper based drawing test and computer based online aesthetic sensitivity test. Both papers carry 100 marks each.
Drawing Test:
A two hour paper based test, the drawing test encompasses three questions designed to test sketching, visualizing, perspective drawing, 3D & 2D drawing elements, understanding of scale and proportions, drawing from memory, etc.
Aesthetic Sensitivity Test:
This is a computer based test with 40 multiple choice questions. The test measures perception, imagination and observation, creativity and communication along with architectural awareness.
